Oak House

Located on an Australian beach foreshore, Oak House is curved to maximise ocean views. The design responds to the surrounding 1950s fibro-cement beach shacks and the rugged coastal conditions. Large terraces embrace each level maximising shelter from the coastal weather while large eaves provide shelter from the sun and rain.

The interior has been carefully crafted from curved oak panels lining the walls and floors.

The irregular-sized curved timber facade grounds the building to the landscape allowing it to comfortably nestle into its rugged beach and bush context.
