Located on a spectacular Australian surf beach, this carefully crafted building contains two penthouse apartments over three levels. The middle floor is split down the centre offering main and guest bedroom retreats for each apartment. The top-floor apartment offers an enormous private rooftop terrace, while the ground floor takes advantage of direct beach-front living.
The building is perceived as a sculptural concrete pavilion with large cantilevered eaves to maximise shade.
The holistic architecture and interior are meticulously detailed and carefully considered and draw their inspiration from the sand, surf and the horizon.
The harsh, tropical and unforgiving environment demanded a robust, low-maintenance material pallet.
This was the second of two projects undertaken with this client.
