The farmhouse vernacular is reinterpreted as an evocative single-storey residence that explores honest materials and a textured material pallet.
The result is a highly detailed, contemporary dwelling characterised by a solid masonry wall encircling the house. This feature is broken by a single pedestrian entrance that leads to a private courtyard layered with a holistic landscape gesture, natural light, textured surfaces and framed by simple, repetitive architectural elements.
This farmhouse is the culmination of a substantial renovation, extended to accommodate relaxed, comfortable spaces. These include a state-of-the-art stainless steel and stone country kitchen, large living rooms, guest bedrooms, outdoor loggia, and a private master bedroom retreat with open bathroom and sitting room.
The simplicity established by the carefully articulated floor plan has been layered by a deep appreciation of textured materials, natural light and tone.
The rolling landscape connects with the orchards and a pool surrounded by timber decking articulated with olive trees, a rural landscape and dramatic coastal views.
